Two dead in fiery Roane County wreck

AMMA, W.Va. — State Police say it may be next week before they are able to finally determine the circumstances which surrounded a horrific head on collision Thursday evening in Roane County.

Two men died in the collision and a woman was hospitalized.  State Police say the two men were riding in a Chevrolet Blazer which burst into flames on impact.  The female victim was in a Chevrolet Tahoe which incurred extreme damage.  Troopers believe at least one of the vehicles was traveling at a high rate of speed, but it’s unclear which of the two drivers crossed the center line on Amma Road.

State Police are not releasing the identities of the two men pending a positive identification from the state Medical Examiner.   An accident reconstruction expert is also investigating to try and answer a number of questions surrounding the collision.
