MetroNews joins Repass for West Virginia Poll

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — MetroNews and Repass Research and Strategic Consulting, a marketing and opinion research firm, are partnering for the West Virginia Poll through the 2016 elections.

Rex Repass, founder and CEO of Repass Research and Strategic Consulting and founder of the West Virginia Poll, made the announcement on Tuesday’s MetroNews “Talkline.”

“It’s a great partner to have,” Repass said.

First established in Jan. 1980, the West Virginia Poll is a non-partisan survey of public opinion.

At times over the years, the West Virginia Poll has been conducted in cooperation with media organizations throughout the Mountain State, including the Charleston Daily Mail.

“We’ve had a long history of measuring public opinion in West Virginia on political, pop culture issues that are important to the state, the nation and the world,” said Repass. “We’re certainly interested in West Virginia issues, topics that are important to West Virginia.”

A Charleston native and Marshall University graduate, Repass originally designed and conducted the West Virginia Poll with Charles Ryan, founder of Charles Ryan Associates.

“I wanted to become the Gallup of West Virginia,” Repass said of the idea that grew.

Results of the first West Virginia Poll, focused on the 2016 gubernatorial race, will be released on Thursday, Sept. 3 on “Talkline” and during the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s Business Summit at The Greenbrier Resort.

Repass Research and Strategic Consulting is based in Cincinnati, Oh. and has offices in both Charleston, W.Va. and Washington, D.C.
