Driver transported to hospital after tractor trailer rolls on I-79 in Marion County

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A single vehicle accident involving a tractor trailer, resulted in the driver being transported to the hospital and traffic delays.

Crews responded to the scene near the 137 southbound mile marker at approximately 12:19, according to Marion County 911.

It’s not clear at this time what caused the tractor trailer to roll over and block traffic.

The driver was transported to United Hospital Center for unknown injuries, while the southbound lanes were shut down for over an hour during cleanup.

State Police are handling the ongoing investigation.
