Lincoln County man charged in burglary, threatening neighbor

RANGER, W.Va. — A Lincoln County man has been charged after he allegedly broke into his neighbor’s home Wednesday morning and threatened him with a pipe.

Zachary Vance, 26, went inside the home and threatened the owner in an argument over his job, a neighbor said. The homeowner allegedly grabbed a shotgun and fired a shot hitting the home’s wall.

Vance’s wife, who was outside the home at the time, suffered an eye injury from the shot which State Police said was not serious.

Vance was charged with burglary and assault. He was in jail Wednesday night under $15,000 bond.
