Mingo County Magistrate Sidebottom to retire

WILLIAMSON, W.Va. — Mingo County Magistrate Deloris “Dee” Sidebottom announced Friday she will retire at the end of October.

Thirtieth Judicial Circuit Judge Miki J. Thompson has appointed Brock Mounts, of Gilbert, to replace Sidebottom.

“Retiring has been a difficult decision for me and one I have struggled with for
months. However, I believe it is time for me to turn over the job. Thirty years is a long
time to be in politics. I will truly miss my co-workers and my friends,” Sidebottom said in an Aug. 25 letter to Thompson.

Mounts will complete Sidebottom’s term, which ends on Dec. 31, 2016.
