State GOP Executive Director to leave for position with RNC

CHARLESTON, W.Va. — West Virginia Republican Party Executive Director Matt Dailer announced Friday he will depart for a position with the RNC.

Dailer, 29, has been with the West Virginia GOP since 2012. The Wheeling native is a graduate of Marshall University.

“One of our own has been called up to the majors and I couldn’t be more proud of him. Matt is a dear friend and this is the type of opportunity that he deserves,” West Virginia Republican Party Chairman Conrad Lucas said in a statement. “The RNC took notice of the great things that happened last year in West Virginia and it is natural for them to tap a member of our team. West Virginia is a better place because of Matt Dailer and, while he will be missed, he’s off to help us win the White House.”

U.S. Sen. Shelley Moore Capito added, “Matt has been a tremendous asset to our State and our Party. He was a major factor in the Party’s success over the last two election cycles. He will be missed and I wish him well.”

Dailer was grateful for the opportunity, calling it one that “might only come around once in a lifetime.”
