THORNTON, W.Va. — The State Fire Marshal’s Office has been called in to investigate a suspicious fire that destroyed a Taylor County mobile home.

Crews responded to the scene Monday night along Bentridge Road in the Thornton area at approximately 9:30 p.m., according to officials.

It took nearly an hour and a half to extinguish the flames, but the home was considered a total loss by then.

One unspecified individual was transported to Grafton City Hospital to be treated for undisclosed injures.

The cause of the suspicious fire will be determined by the Fire Marshals working the ongoing investigation.
