Firefighter injured in Putnam County blaze

TEAYS VALLEY, W.Va. — A Putnam County house sustained major damage in a Monday morning fire on Stonegate Drive.

Investigators say the blaze either started in the basement or the first floor of the home. It was spotted at around 6:45 a.m. There was no initial word on what started the fire. No one was at home when it began.

A Teays Valley firefighter was injured while inside the house. He was in stable condition at CAMC Teays Valley at midday Monday.

Fire crews from Teays Valley, Hurricane, Eleanor, Nitro and St. Albans were on the scene.
