2 fatal motorcycle accidents in Monongalia County

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Deadly motorcycle accidents occurred just hours apart Sunday afternoon in Monongalia County.

One motorcyclist was killed near the intersection of Don Knotts Boulevard and Smithtown Road in Morgantown.

The second accident happened around 3 p.m. close to the intersection of Route 7 and Pedlar Run Road near Core, state police said. A passenger on the motorcycle was killed when it collided with an SUV. The driver of the motorcycle was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The names of the victims have not been released.
