Man killed in Huntington duplex fire

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — A man was killed in a Friday morning fire.

The blaze was reported at 5:45 a.m. at a duplex in the 600 block of Washington Avenue, authorities said.

Three of the four people living there were able to escape, according to WSAZ-TV, but Gerald Davis, 43, did not make it out. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The state Fire Marshal’s Office was called in to investigate.

It was the second deadly fire in as many days in West Virginia. A man was killed in a mobile home fire in Greenbrier County on Thursday.
