Accident on Rt. 50 in Doddridge County reportedly leaves WVRJA driver injured

SMITHBURG, W.Va. — A two-vehicle accident in Doddridge County Tuesday morning has reportedly left a West Virginia Regional Jail driver injured.

At approximately 9:30 a.m., the driver pulled the full-sized work van onto Route 50 eastbound from Snowbird Lane in front of a semi-truck.

The extent of the RJA driver’s injuries were unknown by authorities, who were still on location as of 11:45 a.m. evaluating the scene. The driver was the only one in the van.

Meanwhile, the driver of the semi was uninjured.

Traffic was delayed as crews worked to clear the wreckage.

More information on the accident was expected as the investigation continued.
