Police seeking man who escaped Beckley Correctional Center

BECKLEY, W.Va. — Police are searching for a man who apparently escaped from the Beckley Correctional Center on Wednesday morning.

Royal “Sean” Vance, 39, was present during a head count at 6 am, but was not present during a second head count about 90 minutes later.

Vance, a Cabell County native, is listed at 6’2”, 215 pounds and has tattoos on his right wrist (“Aron”), inner right bicep (Face with bandana holding pistol), the back of his left upper-arm (man holding a street sign), center stomach (“Royal”), left front forearm (“soldier”), right front upper arm (“smooth”/joker skull), left front upper arm (tiger/barbed wire/skull), right wrist (“Kourtnee”), right front forearm (“str/8 Ball),

Vance has red hair and blue eyes.

He was serving a sentence of 1-10 years for grand larceny.
