CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — The second individual suspected in connection to a August 2014 shootout in Clarksburg has been found guilty on five of the six charges against him.
Donald Richardson Jordan, 26, of Grove City, Ohio, was convicted of Brandishing a Firearm, Wanton Endangerment Involving a Firearm, Malicious Assault and two counts of lesser offense Possession of a Controlled Substance.
He was found not guilty by the jury Friday of Assault During the Commission of a Felony.
On the night of August 12, 2014, an argument between Jordan and his uncle, Willie Dukes Jr., escalated to the two men shooting at one another near Dukes’ home in Clarksburg.
The foundation of the argument stems from Jordan’s intent to relocate to the area in order to sell drugs.
Jordan would shoot Dukes and another relative multiple times, while Dukes would not directly hit Jordan.
The two injured would be transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries, while Jordan was tracked down by police after fleeing the scene.
Upon his arrest, authorities searched his person and found $4000 separated into $1000 stacks, along with cocaine and Alprazolam.
The two were indicted by a Harrison County grand jury in January and were to be tried together, but Dukes entered into a plea agreement with the state and is currently serving a three years sentence on home confinement.
Jordan’s trial lasted a week and the jury took approximately two hours to deliberate Friday.
The potential sentence for Jordan could be 36 years in prison if the judge issues the maximum penalty for each offense.
Harrison County Circuit Judge Thomas Bedell scheduled Jordan’s sentencing tentatively for 9 a.m. on December 11.
