LEWISBURG, W.Va. — A 58-year-old man is in custody following a high-speed chase that began Friday night in Wyoming County.

Police say that Everett Charles Nicholson fled a routine traffic stop Friday night in Mullens. Officers allegedly discovered Nicholson’s license had been revoked for DUI.

The chase of Nicholson’s 1994 Oldsmobile Cutlass went into Raleigh County when sheriff’s deputies saw the vehicle in Sophia late Friday night. After that stop failed, State Police in Greenbrier County were put in charge of the chase. Nicholson was eventually pulled over and taken into custody on I-64 after the Lewisburg Police Department utilized spike strips.

Nicholson faces charges of fleeing in a vehicle, obstructing and driving on a revoked license. He was being held in the Southern Regional Jail.
