Woman charged in attack on doctor enters plea deal Tuesday

BECKLEY, W.Va. — A woman charged in an attack on a Beckley doctor last July entered into a plea agreement with prosecutors on Tuesday.

Kimberly Dawn Adkins was indicted on charges of Malicious Wounding, Violent Crime Against the Elderly, Conspiracy, and Falsely Reporting an Emergency Incident.

She pled guilty to all charges with the exception of felony conspiracy.

According to police, Adkins was implicated with Alvin Ray Williams in an attack on a doctor at Access Health OB-GYN in Beckley. Williams had asked to speak with the doctor and then attacked him after he arrived.

Prosecutors will recommend a sentence of two to 10 years in the Laken Correctional Facility in West Columbia as a result of the deal.
