Fayette County man charged with trying to set wife on fire

MOUNT HOPE, W.Va. — A Fayette County man was charged with attempted murder and arson Tuesday after allegedly trying to set his wife on fire.

Carlos Sanger’s wife said he assaulted her, poured gasoline on her and a room in their home and attempted to set her and the room on fire Monday afternoon, according to Mount Hope Police.

There was a small fire, but the woman was able to put it out.
