Highlights: Fairmont Senior 58, Keyser 42

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — Class AA No. 4 Fairmont Senior (10-2) won a shootout over No. 5 Keyser (9-3) 58-42. Polar Bears’ quarterback Dom Smith finished the night going 28 of 39 through the air for 426 yards and four touchdowns. He eclipsed the 3,000 yard passing mark on the season.

Fairmont Senior’s Bryson Gilbert also had a big game, including a 67 yard interception return at the end of the first half that swung all of the game’s momentum. Keyser led 27-24 at the break before the Polar Bears pulled away in the second half.

“We felt like we were going to score some points tonight,” said Fairmont Senior coach J.L. Abbott. “One of the things we stressed to them at halftime is that if we could get three stops in the second half, we would win the game.”

Highlights from the game are posted above, with radio calls from Jeff Carpenter on 93.1 WFGM.
