Beckley doctor indicted on multiple federal drug charges

BECKELY, W.Va. — A doctor was indicted Tuesday on on multiple federal drug charges by a federal grand jury in Beckley.

Jorge Abbud Gordinho was arrested Nov. 12 following a search warrant at his medical office on George Street in Beckley.

The 21-count indictment includes allegations that Gordinho conspired to distribute pain medications such as oxycodone and morphine outside the bounds of medical practice.

The indictment also alleges multiple counts of distribution of oxycodone, oxymorphone, hydrocodone, and morphine not for legitimate medical purposes

Gordinho has been held at the Southern Regional Jail since his arrest.
