One man injured in Preston camper fire

MASONTOWN, W.Va. — A hunter was treated at Preston Memorial Hospital after a suspected propane explosion at his hunting camp Tuesday morning.

Officials with the Masontown Volunteer Fire Department say the man and his grandson, both from Parkersburg, were staying in a camping trailer at a hunting camp near Bull Run. The victim was trying to light a propane light when the explosion occurred. Officials believe there was a gas leak that ignited.

The victim was burned on his hands, arms and face. His grandson was able to get out of the camper unharmed.

The camper was a total loss.
