CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A fugitive wanted out of South Carolina is back in custody after authorities tracked him down in Harrison County.
Salvador Sanchez Ware, 35, of Myrtle Beach was arrested around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday in Clarksburg. Ware was wanted by the Horry County Sheriffs Department for strong armed robbery, assault, and kidnapping.
He is alleged to have robbed a convenience store on November 18, in which he also beat an elderly clerk causing multiple fractures to her face and chest.
The Horry County Sheriffs Department obtained arrest warrants for these charges on November 20.
The case was referred to the US Marshals Operation Intercept Task Force in South Carolina, which believed Ware fled the area and traveled to West Virginia.
Deputy U.S. Marshals in Clarksburg were contacted on Monday for assistance in locating Ware and deputies were able to establish his connections in the area, including a previous arrest by the Clarksburg Police Department in 2013.
Ware departed a residence on Liberty Ave in a vehicle and with assistance from the Clarksburg Police Department, a traffic stop was conducted on that vehicle near 9th and Horner Street.
An arrest was made without incident, charges of being a fugitive from justice were filed by the Clarksburg Police Department and Ware was held at North Central Regional Jail.
Ware was scheduled to appear in Harrison County Court on Wednesday, before being extradited back to South Carolina to face his charges.
