Man faces burglary charges in Parkersburg shooting

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — A man was arraigned in Wood County Court Wednesday night following an armed burglary earlier this week.

Amos Payne, 32, faces burglary and wanton endangerment charges for the Monday incident.

Authorities said Payne and two other men allegedly entered a home on 11th Avenue. The victim, William Dawson, was shot in the leg after him and his wife arrived home to find the three suspects inside.

Police say the alleged suspects got away with a TV and some cash.

Officials believe this is drug related and they do believe the suspects and the victims know each other.

Investigators continue to look for the two other men involved with the crime.
