Marshall County couple faces child abuse charges

CAMERON, W.Va. — Police in Marshall County are looking for a man responsible for allegedly abusing a child last month.

Christopher Helmic, 25, of Cameron, is wanted for helping his girlfriend Meagen Taylor, 28, hurt her 11-month-old son.

Taylor was arrested and accused of beating and biting the child. Helmic is said to have broke the baby’s arm.

The baby was rushed to the hospital when deputies were notified of the incident this past weekend.

Taylor remains in the Northern Regional Jail on $25,000 bond.

Anyone with information on Helmic’s whereabouts is urged to contact the Marshall County Sheriff’s Department.
