Two men sentenced in Huntington heroin conspiracy

HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Two men who participated in a heroin conspiracy between 2012 and 2014 were sentenced in Huntington federal court Monday.

Kenneth Baxter, 25, of Detroit was sentenced to seven years and three months in prison after he previously pled guilty to distributing heroin.

Coty Richardson, 24, of South Point, Ohio, was was sentenced to five years and ten months in federal prison after previously pleading guilty to attempting to possess with intent to distribute 100 grams or more of heroin.

Baxter led a conspiracy that involved the transport of heroin from Detroit to Huntington, including providing heroin to Richardson for distribution in the Huntington area.

Baxter also sold heroin to confidential informants on four separate occasions between April and December of 2014.
