Small fire at elementary school in Gilmer County under investigation

SAND FORK, W.Va. — A small fire at an elementary school in Gilmer County is under investigation.

The state Fire Marshal’s office was called out to Sand Fork Elementary Friday after the town’s volunteer fire department put out the flames at around 6 p.m. Thursday.

Students were in class Friday morning, according to the Gilmer County Board of Education.

More information is expected at the conclusion of the investigation.
