Father arrested after shaking incident involving baby son

CROSS LANES, W.Va. — A 4-month-old boy suffered multiple injuries after being shaken by his father Sunday, Kanawha County sheriff’s deputies said.

Joshua Steven Albany, 24, of Cross Lanes was arrested and arraigned Monday morning on charges of felony child abuse causing injury.

Albany got frustrated with his son’s crying and shook him, a criminal complaint alleged.

Deputies said the incident happened quickly Sunday when the baby’s mother was out of the room.

The boy is being treated at CAMC’s Women and Children’s Hospital in Charleston for bleeding on the brain, a broken collarbone and slight bruising. The initial 911 call said the boy had stopped breathing.

Albany was arraigned Monday morning and placed in the South Central Regional Jail.
