Monroe County woman arrested Tuesday for alleged embezzlement

PETERSTOWN, W.Va. — A Monroe County woman was arrested Tuesday for the alleged embezzlement of nearly $46,000.

Police say Suella Waugh, 40, of Peterstown, embezzled the money from the Red Sulphur Public Service District in Peterstown.

Waugh allegedly was involved in a scheme to defraud the PSD by using a company credit card to make personal purchases and then creating fictitious invoices to cover the crime.

Waugh was arraigned in Monroe County Magistrate Court and released after posting bond.
