CHESTER, W.Va. — A lucky Powerball ticket was sold in Hancock County Wednesday night.
The ticket, worth $1 million, was purchased from Chaney’s Service Station in Chester. The name of the winner has not been released.
All five numbers were matched on the ticket except for the Powerball number.
In addition, five other winning tickets worth $50,000 were sold in West Virginia. The tickets were bought at Par Mar on Old East Grafton Road in Fairmont, the Speedway at Route 33 and Scott Lane in Scott Depot, Sheetz on Charles Town Road in Kearneysville, Sheetz on Courthouse Road in Princeton and the Loading Zone on Ridgecrest Road in Wheeling.
Wednesday’s Powerball numbers were 4, 8, 19, 27, 34 and the Powerball was 10. The Powerplay multiplier was 2x.
Jackpot winners for the record $1.5 billion prize were reported in California, Tennessee and Florida. Those players matched all six numbers. They will share the jackpot, according to a news release.
The West Virginia Lottery reported over 128,000 Powerball tickets won a prize in West Virginia following the drawing.
A player also won $30,000 in the Multi-State Lottery Hot Lotto game Wednesday. That ticket was sold in Mercer County.
