Suspect turns himself in in connection with deadly Bluefield shooting

BLUEFIELD, W.Va. — A 35-year-old man was shot and killed Saturday morning at a Bluefield motel.

Dexter Mitchell, of Bluefield, was shot early Saturday morning, according to Bluefield Police The incident happened at around 3 a.m. at the Quality Inn, Bluefield police said.

Steven Williams, 23, also from Bluefield turned himself in at the Bluefield Police Department at Saturday afternoon in connection with the shooting.

Mitchell was pronounced dead at the scene. Williams is facing an alleged murder charge, police said.
