MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — Some of the notable high school players in the state who are expected to sign Wednesday. There are at least 12 Division I scholarship athletes out of the state’s overall senior class:

– Capital quarterback Tyrhee Pratt had committed to WVU last year, but on Tuesday announced he would be re-opening his recruiting options, including a potential visit to Charlotte. Pratt won the 2015 Kennedy Award and finished as the runner-up for the MetroNews Player of the Year.
– Some other notable preferred walk-ons with WVU include: Elijah Drummond (Bridgeport), Dante Bonamico (Bridgeport), Nick Davisson (Fairmont Sr.), Carter Walburn (Martinsburg), Nathan Green (Brooke), Conner Watts (Hurricane), Evan Staley (Hampshire), Kyle Ayers (Woodrow Wilson), Kyle Poland (Morgantown), Kody Shearer (Morgantown), Evan Stire (Morgantown), Jonah Campbell (Morgantown), Jordan Miller (Notre Dame) and Zayvion Lawson (Greenbrier East).
– Clay-Battelle quarterback Jarret Hockenberry will be a preferred walk-on at Marshall.
– Cabell Midland coach Luke Salmons said he expects to have 11 total kids sign eventually. Besides the three athletes listed above on D-I scholarships, Lucas Jacobs will be a preferred walk-on at Kansas, Sammy Perry will sign with Charleston and QB Tyler Brown with West Virginia State. Five other Cabell Midland players have multiple offers and haven’t decided yet.
– Huntington has several players who will go on to the next level, including Myles Robertson and Kobe Woodall signing with Alderson Broaddus. Connor Farrell will sign with West Virginia Wesleyan. Ryan Gatrell, Terrance Tate and Dionne Jackson all have options and will sign at a later date.
– Moorefield running back Wil Schoonover will sign with Glenville State. His teammate, Zack Liller, has been in talks with Glenville as well.
– Class A state champion Magnolia will have Kyle Ritz and Tyler Anderson both signing with West Liberty.
– South Charleston‘s Braydon Underwood will sign with Charleston
– Keyser‘s Cole Weaver will sign with Shepherd.
– Parkersburg South‘s Josh Boothe will sign at West Virginia Wesleyan. QB Garrett Gilkeson is planning on eventually signing somewhere to play basketball.
– Fairmont Senior‘s Andrew Bundy will sign with Fairmont State.
– Bridgeport‘s Matt Dillon has been deciding between Marietta and Alderson Broaddus.
– Dylan Druschel at Bishop Donahue has several D-III offers, along with a D-II offer from West Liberty. He’ll be taking an official visit to Concord this weekend.
– Shady Spring‘s Corey Handy will sign with sign with Kentucky Christian where he’s projected at DT/DE.
– Spring Valley‘s Jakob Frye will sign with Charleston.
– At Wheeling Park (besides Savion Johnson and Elijah Bell to North Carolina A&T), Clay McDonald and Jamez Coles will sign with Gannon University, while Richard Blackwell is a West Liberty commitment.
– A non-high school note: Former Morgantown standout Blaine Stewart will spend his final two years of eligibility at Charleston while he works on a master’s degree. Stewart graduated with his undergrad from James Madison in three years.
– Another signee from Morgantown is Brady Hatch with West Virginia State.
– At Hurricane, Caleb Doak will sign with Glenville State and QB Blake Stover with Georgetown College in Kentucky.
– Jefferson has two D-I signees listed above, but Phillip Keller will also be signing with Walsh University in Ohio.
– Woodrow Wilson will also have Hunter Foster and Raymond Thompson both signing with Alderson Broaddus.
– At Berkeley Springs, 6-foot-1, 260 pound offensive lineman Jonathan Watson will sign with Glenville State.
– Man quarterback J.T. Keffer will sign with Glenville State.
– Robert C. Byrd‘s Cole Fisher and Juwan Jones-Wright will sign with Glenville State
– Summers County QB Matt Ryan will sign with Charleston.
– At Notre Dame, Mackenzie “Mack” Pernell (6-4, 210) signed with West Virginia Wesleyan. Also, 6’1, 180 pound wide receiver Jack Ebert will sign with West Virginia Wesleyan as well.
