Nude picture postings to Facebook lead to arrest of Berkeley County man

MARTINSBURG, W.Va. — A Berkeley County man who allegedly posted nude photos of a Spring Mills High School teacher to a fake Facebook account and then tried to “friend” several of the teacher’s students or former students is facing criminal charges.

The Journal reported Anthony Lee Valentine II, 31, of Gerrardstown, was arrested Friday and charged with five counts of displaying obscene material to a minor.

At least five present or past students between the ages of 15 and 17 received the friend requests, according to investigators.

Valentine is an ex-boyfriend of the teacher involved.

She’d notified law enforcement officers of the Facebook photo postings, made using her name, in January.

The photos being used, the teacher said, were sent to Valentine in Summer 2015 when the two were dating. The relationship ended months later.

Valentine was released Friday on $25,000 bond. Each count he’s facing comes with a possible penalty of five years in prison.
