WOOD COUNTY, W.Va. — A wreck on U.S. Route 50 in Wood County claimed one life on Friday and sent a second person to Camden Clark Medical Center to be treated for injuries.
The person killed was thrown from one of the vehicles before 7 p.m. Friday near Progress Ridge Road in the Deerwalk area, according to investigators.
Reports from the scene indicated a vehicle had entered Route 50 when it was hit by another vehicle heading east.
Two other vehicles were damaged by debris from the initial wreck that shut down Route 50 east for a couple of hours on Friday night, officials said.
The person killed was not being identified publicly as of Saturday morning.
