Missing teenager found dead in Grant County

PETERSBURG, W.Va. — A Grant County woman, missing for more than a week, was found dead Saturday, according to state police.

Grant County 911 received a report Saturday of a silver vehicle found over an embankment along state Route 93. The vehicle was identified as the same vehicle being driven by Cassie Vosburgh, 18, of Petersburg, when she was last seen Feb. 11.

Vosburgh was driving from Keyser toward Maysville. She was traveling alone.

The vehicle veered off the west roadway edge and over the steep embankment, investigating troopers said.

Volunteer search teams and law enforcement officials spent much of last week searching for the vehicle.  It is believed snow and ice from recent storms hampered the visibility during the searches by authorities.

The investigation is ongoing.
