Police seeking suspect connected to burglaries in 3 counties

MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — State police have identified the man they think is responsible for multiple thefts in at least three counties.

According to investigators, residents should be on the lookout for Gregory Lee Gillum, II. The 25-year-old stands approximately 5’10” and weighs about 155 pounds.  He has blonde hair, blue eyes and a number of tattoos, including those on his forearms.

Gillum has outstanding warrants for his arrest in connection with a March 11 burglary.

The suspect is accused of robbing a Monongalia County home of $4,000 worth of jewelry and $200 in cash, food and dog food. More than $4,000 worth of charges was racked up on stolen credit cards. Police believe Gillum purchased electronics and cigarettes.

Police in Monongalia, Preston and Taylor Counties have named as a suspect in similar crimes. The accused could face conspiracy and burglary charges along with parole violations.

The West Virginia State Police Morgantown Detachment advises Gillum is known to travel between Cheat Lake and Gladesville in Monongalia County.

Gillum may also have acquaintances in Masontown in Preston County and frequents the Dogtown Road area.

Police are asking residents who see Gillum to contact Monongalia, Preston or Taylor County authorities.
