HUNTINGTON, W.Va. – The Thundering Herd is reportedly getting some much needed help for its depleted cornerback position.
Collegefootballtalk.com is reporting former Michigan cornerback Terry Richardson is transferring to Marshall. Richardson would be a graduate-transfer, therefore eligible for the 2016 season.
Richardson was a four-star recruit in Michigan’s 2012 signing class. He was rated as the No. 18 cornerback in the country coming out of high school. However, Richardson played in just six games as a true freshman and saw his playing time gradually diminish and saw action in just a single game last year.
Marshall defensive coordinator Chuck Heater has to be delighted with Richardson’s addition to the roster. The Herd was already thin at corner entering spring practice.
Two-year starter Corey Tindal decided to forego his senior season with the Herd and enter the 2016 NFL Draft. Antonio Howard was expected to be in the mix to earn a starting role this spring, but did not enroll at Marshall for the spring semester.
