Derrick “Trapper” Savage, 33, of Clarksburg, was charged Thursday with two counts of distribution of crack cocaine and one count of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine.

The Harrison County Sheriff’s Department’s Street Crimes and Drug Unit executed two search warrants, one at Savage’s residence on Austin Avenue and one at his business, Affordable Details, on Haymond Highway.

A prior undercover investigation led authorities to believe that Savage was selling cocaine out of his business.

“The Street Crimes and Drug Unit has been seeing a increase in the amount of crack cocaine being sold in area,” said Chief Deputy Jeff McAtee. “We are trying stop this quickly before it becomes a problem. This investigation was conducted and concluded in less than a month.”

As a result of the search, SCAD deputies located approximately 60

At the time of his arrest, Savage had additional crack cocaine packaged for sale in his pants pockets.

Upon review of his criminal history, authorities discovered that Savage was on Federal Supervised Release for other drug related charges.

He was transported to the North Central Regional Jail to await arraignment.
