HUNTINGTON, W.Va. — Depending on the passage of a state budget, Marshall students will pay between 5 and 11 percent more in tuition next year.
The university’s Board of Governors approved three possible tuition increase plans at its meeting Wednesday.
They approved a 5 percent increase if the state makes no further cuts to the university’s funding, an 8 percent increase if the state cuts the school’s funding by up to 4 percent, or an 11 percent increase in tuition if the state cuts funding over 4 percent.
State lawmakers have yet to pass a budget for the 2016-2017 Fiscal Year.
