Harrison County resident pleads guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A convicted robber living in Harrison County has pled guilty to a federal firearms charge.

Aric J. Stutler, 38, of Mount Clare, entered the plea in federal court in Clarksburg to unlawful possession of a firearm Monday, United States Attorney William J. Ihlenfeld, II, announced.

Stutler was discovered in unlawful possession of a .22 caliber pistol in Mary 2015 in Harrison County.

He was previously convicted of the felony offense of Armed Bank Robbery in the United States District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.

On the one count of Felon in Possession of a Firearm pled to Monday, Stutler faces up to 10 years in prison and a fine of up to $250,000.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives investigated.

Assistant U.S. Attorney David Perri prosecuted the case on behalf of the government, while U.S. Magistrate Judge Michael John Aloi presided.
