One dead, one injured after head-on collision in Barbour County

MOATSVILLE, W.Va. — A head-on collision in Barbour County has resulted in the death of a woman.

The accident happened at approximately 3:47 p.m. Wednesday along WV Rt. 92 near Moatsville, according to the Barbour County Sheriff’s Department.

A 59-year-old woman from Moatsville was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 56-year-old Tacy area woman was flown from the site by HealthNet to Ruby Memorial Hospital to be treated for non-life threatening injuries.

Both women were drivers and the only occupants of the two vehicles involved.

Identities are being withheld at this time and more information is expected as the investigation led by the Sheriff’s Department continues.
