Two injured after tractor trailer goes over embankment along I-79 in Marion County

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — A father and son are said to be recovering in the hospital after a Thursday morning wreck along I-79 in Marion County.

Emergency responders were on the scene early after a tractor trailer somehow lost control, flipped over a guard rail and went over an embankment near the Prickett’s Creek Road on ramp.

The tractor trailer was the only vehicle involved in the accident, according to authorities.

No word on the identities or conditions of the two injured, who were transported to Ruby Memorial Hospital by ambulance.

More information is expected as the investigation continues.

Traffic was delayed during the Thursday morning commute as crews worked to clear the scene.
