Child injured after auto-pedestrian accident in Clarksburg

CLARKSBURG, W.Va. — A child was transported to the hospital after police report that he was struck by a vehicle while walking.

The incident occurred at around 6 p.m. along South 22nd Street in the Adamston area of Clarksburg.

Investigators initially believe a 7-year-old boy was somehow hit by a driver in a Chevy Traverse.

HealthNet flew the boy from the scene to be treated for a a compound fracture in his leg.

The injury is not considered to be life-threatening, according to officials.

Officers with the Clarksburg Police Department are leading the investigation into the accident.
