CHARLESTON, W.Va. — The three candidates running for governor in Tuesday’s Democratic Primary spent Monday crisscrossing the state.
Greenbrier Resort owner Jim Justice made several stops in the eastern panhandle. He told MetroNews his campaign has the necessary momentum to win Tuesday.
“I feel the support growing every day on the campaign trail, and that’s why I am leading in every poll. I will turn around West Virginia and help our working families,” Justice said.
Former U.S. Attorney Booth Goodwin was also in the eastern panhandle Monday along with stops in Elkins before finishing the day with a rally at his headquarters in downtown Charleston.
“I really do believe we’ve run a good race. We have left it out on the table. I’ve tried to remain positive,” Goodwin said on MetroNews “Talkline” Monday.
State Senate Minority Leader Jeff Kessler (D-Marshall) started Monday in Nicholas County, one of several stops on his way to his Glen Dale home.
Kessler believes his grassroots campaign will pay off Tuesday.
“I’ve been going out talking to people just like you,” he said on “Talkline”. “Those are my people and the only ones I care about, the only endorsements I care about are the people of this state.”
The winner of Tuesday’s Democratic Party nomination will face Republican Bill Cole in the general election.
