MORGANTOWN, W.Va. — The trial of a Winfield man accused in a deadly drunk driving incident is scheduled for July.
Alexander Hambrick, 19, entered a not guilty plea in Monongalia County Circuit Court Tuesday to charges of leaving the scene of an accident with death and DUI with death.
A grand jury handed down an indictment on those charges earlier this month.
According to Morgantown police, in January, Hambrick ran his truck onto the sidewalk off of Stewart Street striking Carli Sears, 20, of Charleston.
Sears, a University of Mississippi student at the time, was a graduate of George Washington High School.
Hambrick, a WVU student at the time of the incident, is a 2015 graduate of Ripley High School.
