Parkersburg South girls basketball coach Stephens ends tenure

PARKERSBURG, W.Va. — Parkersburg South girls basketball coach Scott Stephens is stepping down to accept a position on his daughter, Kim’s, coaching staff at Glenville State.

Stephens spent 16 years at the helm with the Patriots, finishing with an overall record of 254-79. Stephens led Parkersburg South to three state championships during his tenure. The Patriots defeated Morgantown 61-57 for the 2006 championship, knocked off Huntington 51-43 for the 2008 title and took down Logan 58-34 for the 2013 state championship.

The Patriots this past season finished with a 21-6 record, advancing to the Class AAA state semifinals.
