Silver alert issued for man missing from Marion County

RIVESVILLE, W.Va. — A statewide Silver Alert has been issued for a Marion County man who may be in the early stages of dementia.

The Marion County Sheriff’s Department requested the alert from West Virginia State Police Friday morning.

William Franklin Coburn, 74 years old, was last seen on Fairmont Road in Rivesville wearing a black sweatshirt and blue jeans Thursday evening between 4 p.m. and 5 p.m.

He is described as 5’8″ tall, 180 pounds with brown eyes and brown hair.

Coburn was driving a red Honda ATV with a wooden crate attached to the front and may have been traveling toward Massie Hollow Road in Morgantown.

Anyone who has seen Coburn or has information on his whereabouts should contact West Virginia State Police at 304-624-7573 or Marion County Sheriff’s Department at 304-367-5300.
