‘Visiting Angel’ sentenced in Ohio County theft case

WHEELING, W.Va. — An Ohio woman was sentenced to 1 to 10 years in prison Friday in Ohio County Circuit Court after stealing from a Wheeling area woman who was terminally ill.

Stephanie Walker, of Shadyside, OH, asked the judge to grant her mercy following an earlier guilty plea. The theft happened at the victim’s home last fall.

Walker was working as a “Visiting Angel” when she stole several items from the victim.
