WAYNE, W.Va. — A man accused of the fatal stabbing of a Wayne County man and seriously injuring his wife was found guilty of all charges Wednesday.
Jeremy Marcum, 22, of Genoa, West Virginia, was found guilty of murder, malicious wounding, and conspiracy. The jury was handed the case late Wednesday afternoon and reached its verdict within two hours.
Marcum had admitted to stabbing James “Red” Bundy and his wife Myrtle in their home in Genoa in Nov. 2014.
The defense has argued that Marcum was influenced to commit the crimes by drugs, sleep deprivation and his accomplices.
The sentencing phase of the trial is scheduled to begin Thursday morning.
