Fairmont woman charged in connection with teen’s death

FAIRMONT, W.Va. — An adult was arrested and a teen could be charged in the death of a Fairmont high school student.

Amy Jones, 39, has been charged with one count of child neglect resulting in death in connection with the fatal shooting of Printess Winston IV.

The 16-year-old rising Fairmont Senior High School junior was shot by another 16-year-old Sunday, June 12 at an apartment complex on Cleveland Avenue.

Jones was arraigned and released on a $25,000 bond. The shooting allegedly occurred in her home when two teens were playing with a gun that accidentally discharged striking Winston.

The teen accused in the death could be facing involuntary manslaughter charges.
