Boy killed after go-kart struck on Route 2

LESAGE, W.Va. — A 15-year-old boy was killed Tuesday morning on Route 2 in Cabell County after the go-kart he was riding was struck by a truck.

The boy was trying to cross the busy highway near Frazier’s Lane in the Lesage area when the collision occurred at around 9 a.m. The truck driver had no time to stop, Cabell County Sheriff Tom McComas said.

The truck driver told WSAZ-TV he performed CPR on the boy until first responders arrived.
