Downed trees, power lines, power outages in Webster County following Thursday morning storms

COWEN, W.Va. — More than 1500 people in Webster County are without power Thursday morning following heavy storms that moved through the area and downed trees and power lines.

The Office of Emergency Management reports that the majority of their calls are coming from Cowen, Birch River, and Upper Glade areas.

215 outages have been reported from those three areas all together.

Webster Springs had nearly 800 outages after the storms passed.

Power outages have been centralized to Birch River, Diana, and Tioga. 96 percent of Mon Power customers did not have power in those areas as of 9 am due to severe weather.

Downed trees are currently blocking parts of Rt. 82.
