Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrests suspected looter

RUSSELLVILLE, W.Va. — The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office arrested their first post-flood looter Tuesday morning.

Mark Anthony Moore, 53, of Russellville allegedly stole alcohol, the large truck’s tire and rim, and an inspection sticker and registration plate sticker from an abandoned vehicle.

Moore is charged with one count of burglary, four counts of petit larceny, and one count of possession of a controlled substance.

According to the Sheriff’s Office, Moore is a lifelong resident of the area with an extensive criminal record.

The Sheriff’s Office received a tip through social media Tuesday morning that resulted in Moore’s arrest.

Deputy R.V. Neal, II is leading the investigation.

Moore’s bond is set at $50,000. He is currently in Southern Regional Jail.
